The UR6AH slides into slot P of a UR chassis and converts 120 or 240 VAC to the regulated DC voltages the relay needs. It’s the AC-input version of the standard power supply. What’s the “H” in UR6AH? It’s the high-voltage AC variant (120/240 VAC). There’s also a UR6AD for 24/48 VDC, and a UR6BV for 125/250 VDC. In my experience, the UR6AH is common in smaller substations where a dedicated DC battery plant isn’t available, or for testing benches. The module auto-ranges—no jumpers to set. No firmware. No software. No Firmware: The module uses analog and simple digital control circuits. There’s nothing to flash or upgrade. Hardware Revision: Look for Rev 2 or later on the side label. Rev 1 had a known issue with the input rectifier under severe transient conditions—in substations with poor power quality, the rectifier could fail prematurely. Rev 2 upgraded the rectifier and added additional transient suppression. LED Behavior: Green OK LED = module working, outputs within spec Red Fault LED = input out of range, output overcurrent, or internal failure No LEDs = dead module or no input power Compatibility: Works with all UR series chassis and all UR modules (B90, L90, T60, F60, C30, etc.).
