FAQs Are fire rated downlights required in Australia? Yes, fire rated downlights or approved fire rated downlight covers are required when penetrating fire-rated ceilings to maintain fire resistance in accordance with the NCC. Is FyreHAT suitable for LED downlights? Yes, FyreHAT covers are designed for standard LED downlights and have been tested for fire performance. What fire rating does FyreHAT achieve? The FyreHAT can now achieve an FRL of up to -/120/120 with 60 minutes of RISF, when installed in approved fire-rated ceiling systems. How does a FyreHAT downlight cover work? A FyreHAT downlight cover contains intumescent material that expands when exposed to high temperatures.
